YOUR PRIVACY MATTERS

Privacy policy

Wishly · NextGen Apps Studio · Effective October 16, 2026

This policy explains how the Wishly Android app (listed on Google Play as “Name Photo on Birthday Cake”) and this website handle your information. “We”, “us” and “our” mean NextGen Apps Studio, the developer of the app.

1. Summary

  • You don’t need an account. We don’t run servers that store your birthdays, contacts, photos or creations.
  • Your birthdays, profile, photos and creations stay on your phone unless you share or back them up.
  • The app shows ads (unless you have Premium) and uses Google Firebase to understand usage and fix crashes. These services receive device identifiers and usage information, described in section 5.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.

2. Information that stays on your phone

The app saves the following on your device only. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us:

  • Birthdays and reminders you add or import: names, dates, notes, gift ideas and photos of the people you celebrate.
  • Your own profile, if you set one up: your name, birth date and photo, used for your birthday countdown.
  • Photos, videos and music you choose for cakes, cards, stories and videos, and the creations you save.
  • Party guest lists and settings such as reminders and your Premium status.

Photo cut-outs and QR code scanning run on your phone using Google Play services; the images are not sent to us.

3. Permissions

The app asks for these permissions only when you use the feature that needs them. You can turn them off at any time in Android Settings.

  • Photos, videos and music: to add your pictures and songs to cakes, cards and videos, and to save your creations.
  • Camera: to take a photo for a cake or card, and to scan birthday QR codes.
  • Contacts: to import birthdays from your contacts and to pick party guests. Only the names, birthdays and photos you choose are saved, on your phone. Your contacts are not uploaded.
  • Notifications: to remind you of upcoming birthdays and wishes you planned to send.
  • Internet: for birthday cards, ads, GIFs, analytics and crash reports, and app settings.

4. Backups

If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android saves the app’s birthday list (without photos) to your Google account so it can be restored on a new phone. This backup is handled by Google under your account’s settings; we cannot access it. When you move to a new phone by cable or Wi-Fi, photos are copied too.

You can also create a backup file in the app’s settings. That file is saved where you choose, and we never receive it.

5. Services that receive information

The app uses the services below. They receive information directly from your device and handle it under their own privacy policies.

  • Google AdMob and AppLovin (advertising). To show and measure ads, they receive your device’s advertising ID, device and app information, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be derived) and how you interact with ads. Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area and the UK, the app asks for your consent first using Google’s consent tool. Ads are not shown while Premium is active. See the Google partner sites policy and the AppLovin privacy policy.
  • Our website (birthday cards). The app downloads the list of birthday cards and their images from this website, which is hosted by Vercel. As with any web request, your IP address and device type reach the host, which may keep them in its logs for a short time. Nothing else is sent, and we don’t use these requests to identify you.
  • Google Firebase Analytics. Records how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened and when a video is made) with an app instance ID and device information. It does not receive your photos, names or the text you write.
  • Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring. When the app crashes or something goes wrong, they receive technical details: device model, Android version, app state and error messages. They also measure how fast the app runs.
  • Firebase Remote Config and Cloud Messaging. Let us change app settings without an update and send notifications. They use an app instance ID and a notification token.
  • GIPHY. When you browse or search birthday GIFs, your search words and requests go to GIPHY. See the GIPHY privacy policy.
  • Google Play. Premium subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play. Google handles your payment details; the app only learns whether your subscription is active. Google Play is also used for app updates and ratings.

Google’s services are covered by the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.

6. Sharing and links

When you share a cake, card, video or invitation, it goes to the app you pick (such as WhatsApp or Gmail), and that app’s privacy policy applies. Finding cake shops opens Google Maps (or another maps app) with a search; the app itself does not use your location.

7. Your choices

  • Ad consent: where the consent form applies, you can change your choice at any time from the privacy options in the app’s settings.
  • Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
  • Permissions and notifications: turn them off in Android Settings → Apps → Name Photo on Birthday Cake.
  • No ads: Premium removes ads.

8. Keeping and deleting information

Information on your phone stays until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Android backups are kept and deleted under your Google account settings.

Analytics, crash and advertising information is kept by the providers in section 5 for limited periods under their policies. Because the app has no accounts, this information is not linked to your name. To stop new information being linked to your device, reset your advertising ID and clear the app’s data. For any other request, email us.

9. Children

The app is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us.

10. Security

Information sent to the services in section 5 is encrypted in transit. Information on your phone is protected by Android’s app storage; keep your phone locked to protect it.

11. This website

The birthday name you enter in this website’s preview stays in your browser and is not saved in browser storage. It is only sent to our server if you share the wish or download the card: the name is then part of the link or image request, and is used to draw the card and its link preview. We do not keep it, though our host’s request logs may briefly include the link. This preview does not request or upload photos.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits. It does not use cookies, and we remove the part of each address that could contain a shared name before anything is recorded. Fonts are served from this website. Download links take you to Google Play.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the effective date at the top.
